Also included in Georgia criminal records are arrest data, including the arresting agency, date of arrest, and charges filed. In addition, Georgia criminal records contain final judicial disposition data submitted by a court, prosecutor or other criminal justice agency and custodial information if the offender was incarcerated in a Georgia correctional facility.
According to O.C.G.A. Statute 35-3-35 (d.1), Georgia criminal records are public documents. The statute further provides public access to felony conviction records without consent of the person whose record is being checked. No more than $20.00 is charged as fee and any local law enforcement agency may provide this information. At the time of the request, you would need to provide the subjects full name, race, sex, and date of birth.

How can you obtain Georgia criminal records from GCIC for employment, licensing, or visa (travel) purposes?
There are several reasons why anyone would want to get copies of Georgia criminal records. One of the obvious reasons is employment. Agencies or businesses that wish to conduct background checks for employment purposes or get copies of Georgia criminal records must obtain a unique agency from GCIC and sign a Service Agreement. The same is needed for those who wish to conduct background checks for licensing purposes.
The request for Georgia criminal records must contain two completed applicant fingerprint cards. It must also contain all of the applicants personal information, such as name, date of birth, place of birth, et cetera. Also, the applicant must also provide a current set of 10 rolled fingerprints and eight flat finger impressions. It must be that the fingerprints and impressions are taken by a local law enforcement agency to ensure that the proper procedures are being followed in conducting such.
There are also fee requirements involved when getting copies of Georgia criminal records. Each request costs $15.00 payable by certified check or money order to the Georgia Crime Information Center. The same is required of individuals who are requesting their own Georgia criminal records. Thus, individuals who require fingerprint checks on themselves for employment, licensing, or visa purposes, must also submit fingerprint cards and a $15.00 fee.
